Keith Urban Reunites With Nicole Kidman

A spokesman for Keith Urban denied media reports Wednesday that the Australian-reared country singer had completed treatment for alcohol abuse.

In response to a query by The Associated Press, his New York-based publicist, Paul Freundlich, said in an e-mail: "Keith is on a leave in Australia to be with his family during the holidays. This is a natural occurrence at this point in his treatment. He will continue with his rehab upon his return." No other details were immediately available.

Urban, 39, checked himself into a rehabilitation treatment center in the United States in October, with his wife, Nicole Kidman, by his side. The Grammy-winning singer issued a statement at the time saying, "One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have." Urban flew into Sydney on Tuesday, Australian Associated Press reported.

Michael Jackson Attends James Brown Funeral

More than 8,500 James Brown fans filled an arena bearing his name Saturday in a final, joyful farewell to the singer that seemed as fitting for a civil rights leader as for "The Godfather of Soul."

Mourners returned to Brown's hometown to pay tribute to the musician, who some fans also considered a political figure.

"'I'm black and I'm proud' was the most influential black slogan of the 1960s," said fan Maynard Eaton, referring to the chorus of the Brown standard "Say It Loud."

Brown's body lay in front of the bandstand. Fans lined up in the rain before dawn to get in. When James Brown Arena was full, they gathered on the streets outside to listen to the service over a public address system.

American Idol winner Taylor Hicks will reign as the Krewe of Endymion's grand marshal for the 2007 Carnival season.

The gray-haired, 30-year-old soul singer from Birmingham, Ala., won over audiences this year with his vocal performances and curious dancing style on the hit reality TV show.

Singer Al Green and the musical groups Journey and Styx will also ride in the parade.

FBI Releases Final Secret 'Lennon Surveillance Papers'

LOS ANGELES (December 20, 2006) -- The FBI has released its final surveillance documents on John Lennon to a university historian who has waged a 25-year legal battle to obtain the secret files.

The 10 pages contain new details about Lennon's ties to leftist and anti-war groups in London in the early 1970s, but nothing indicating government officials considered the former Beatle a serious threat, historian Jon Wiener told the Los Angeles Times in Wednesday's editions.

The FBI had unsuccessfully argued that an unnamed foreign government secretly provided the information, and releasing the documents could lead to diplomatic, political or economic retaliation against the United States.

Eminem Divorces His Wife For The Second Time

Rap megastar Eminem and his high school sweetheart divorced for a second time Tuesday, less than a year after they remarried.

Eminem and Kim Mathers agreed to divide property under terms of a private settlement and to share custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott. They told a judge they understood the divorce was final.

The couple "conducted themselves with dignity and respect," Circuit Judge Antonio P. Viviano said. "All in all, they are a very fine couple to deal with."
